Delivery & Returns Policy
Managed collection, delivery, back-orders, cancellations and returns for Parts purchases made through SearchMyRide.
1. How the managed Parts service works
Eligible Parts Vendors may advertise stock on SearchMyRide without a listing fee. Buyers order and pay through SearchMyRide. SearchMyRide privately coordinates the underlying verified supply source, collection and delivery. Vendor names, direct telephone numbers, email addresses, websites and collection addresses are not disclosed to Parts buyers.
2. Prices and delivery charges
The displayed Parts selling price is the SearchMyRide retail price and includes SearchMyRide's 25% markup on the recorded supplier cost. Managed collection and delivery are charged separately where shown at checkout. If a delivery amount must change materially because the delivery address, parcel size/weight or courier requirement differs from the estimate, SearchMyRide will contact the buyer before taking an additional charge.
3. Payment, invoices and buyer accounts
An invoice is created automatically for every managed Parts order. Recorded payments are allocated automatically to outstanding Parts invoices. Invoices, credit notes, monthly statements and the current account balance are available in the Parts Buyer Dashboard. Buyers must never pay a Parts Vendor directly for a SearchMyRide order.
4. Collection, dispatch and tracking
After payment SearchMyRide confirms fulfilment, arranges collection from the private supply source and records collection, in-transit and delivery milestones. Buyers receive delivery notifications and courier/tracking references when available. Delivery dates remain estimates until collection and courier booking are confirmed.
5. Back-orders and unavailable stock
If paid stock is unexpectedly unavailable, delayed or incompatible with the supplied vehicle details, SearchMyRide may source an equivalent item, place the item on back-order, agree a revised fulfilment date, or cancel the affected item/order. SearchMyRide communicates these options directly to the buyer. Approved reductions/cancellations are reflected by credit note and any cash/card refund is handled against the original payment method where supported.
6. Delivery information and failed delivery
Buyers must keep the delivery address, contact person, telephone number and WhatsApp number accurate. Notify SearchMyRide before dispatch if the delivery address changes. Reasonable additional logistics costs caused by an incorrect address, repeated failed delivery or a buyer-requested reroute may be charged where lawful and agreed.
7. Inspection on delivery
Inspect the parcel promptly. Where practical, record visible courier damage, missing parcels or an obviously incorrect item when delivery occurs. Keep packaging, labels and the part until SearchMyRide confirms the next step. Do not return a part directly to a vendor unless SearchMyRide issues written instructions.
8. Returns and fitment issues
Return, replacement and fitment requests must be submitted through the Parts Buyer Dashboard or parts-support@searchmyride.co.za. Provide the order number, affected part, issue, photographs where relevant, and whether the part has been installed. SearchMyRide coordinates the return privately.
9. Installed, electrical, special-order and consumable parts
Some categories may have return limitations where permitted by law, particularly after installation, electrical connection, programming, customisation or use. This does not remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including remedies that may apply to defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or materially misdescribed goods.
10. Cancellation
Contact SearchMyRide as soon as possible to cancel. Cancellation is generally simpler before supplier collection or courier dispatch. If fulfilment has started, reasonable collection/return requirements may apply where lawful. Approved cancellations and related credits are recorded on the buyer account.
11. Refunds and credit notes
A credit note records the accounting reduction; it is not by itself proof that cash has already been returned. Where a refund is approved, SearchMyRide processes or arranges the refund using the original payment route where technically supported, and the buyer ledger records both the credit and refund movement.
12. Warranties and statutory rights
Product-specific warranty information remains relevant where supplied. This policy operates subject to applicable South African consumer law and does not exclude rights that cannot legally be excluded. Mandatory legal rights prevail if they conflict with this policy.
13. Communication and supplier privacy
All buyer-facing Parts communication is routed through SearchMyRide Parts at parts-support@searchmyride.co.za. SearchMyRide may share the minimum vehicle, item and fulfilment information required with its private supply source and logistics providers, but does not provide vendor contact information to buyers through the marketplace.
14. Supplier settlement and account close-out
SearchMyRide settles the private Parts Vendor at the confirmed supplier cost after the applicable internal fulfilment checks. Vendor settlement is recorded separately from the buyer's retail invoice and is not exposed in buyer-facing documents.
15. Support escalation
For a delivery, return, cancellation, back-order, fitment or accounting query, email parts-support@searchmyride.co.za and include the SearchMyRide Parts order number. This is the central buyer support channel for the managed Parts service.
