How the SearchMyRide Spotter System Works
SearchMyRide Spotters connect vehicle owners with buyers through a controlled listing process built around owner consent, identity checks, NaTIS review and administrator approval before a vehicle is published.
What is a SearchMyRide Spotter?
A Spotter is a verified individual or network that helps vehicle owners prepare and advertise cars on SearchMyRide. The Spotter coordinates information and enquiries, but the registered owner remains part of the consent and verification process.
The system is designed for responsible vehicle sourcing. It is not an unrestricted classifieds account: identity documents, owner authority, vehicle information and NaTIS records are reviewed before publication.
How a Spotter vehicle becomes live
Spotter registration
The applicant creates an account, supplies contact details and uploads required identity documents.
Account verification
SearchMyRide reviews the application. Approved Spotters select a package through WooCommerce.
Owner authorisation
The Spotter can email the owner a secure consent link to submit contact details, identity or driver documents and NaTIS.
Vehicle submission
Vehicle specifications, price, mileage, images and owner records are linked in one review point.
Administrator review
The administrator checks documents, duplicate warnings, images and package eligibility before approval.
Live listing and enquiries
Approved cars appear in Spotter inventory and on the Spotter’s profile, with tracked buyer enquiries.

What verification does—and does not—mean
Verification confirms
- The Spotter account passed its identity review
- Required owner and NaTIS documents were submitted for review
- An administrator approved the listing before it went live
Buyers should still
- Inspect and test-drive the vehicle
- Confirm ownership and finance settlement where applicable
- Use secure payment and transfer processes
Spotter system questions
Can a Spotter advertise a vehicle without the owner?
No. Every vehicle requires registered-owner information, supporting identity documentation and NaTIS. The secure owner-consent workflow lets the owner approve or decline online.
Does submitting documents guarantee publication?
No. Documents, vehicle information, images, package status and duplicate checks are reviewed before an administrator decides whether the car may go live.
How does a Spotter become certified?
The Certified Verified Spotter badge appears after at least 90 days from the first administrator-approved live vehicle, provided the Spotter remains verified and has an active public-profile package.
Where can a Spotter manage vehicles?
Cars, consent requests, packages, promotions, enquiries and reports are managed from the Spotter dashboard.
